British scientists use gingival cells to develop new teeth and get rid of dentures.

According to British media reports on March 9, researchers at King's College London in the United Kingdom extracted adult gingival tissue cells and combined them with another cell from mice to successfully develop a new tooth. They said that one day, the dentist might replace the new tooth with a missing tooth.
In the latest study, they extracted epithelial cells from the gums of adult patients, cultured them in large quantities in the laboratory, and mixed them with the interstitial cells of mice. This stromal cell is cultured with "induction" - "indicating" that the epithelial cells begin to develop into teeth. The researchers transplanted this mixture of cells into mice, which resulted in a mixture of human and mouse teeth with a living root.
The researchers say the next step will be to find readily available human mesenchymal cell resources and grow enough cells to make them an effective technology for clinical use.
