Xijiang rice

The Xijiang rice has a long history. The Xianfeng Emperor of the Qing dynasty sealed the Xijiang rice as a “Gommi” for the Queen’s use, and was paid annually quantitatively. After the founding of New China, Xijiang Rice won the 1st signed by the Prime Minister for its high quality and high quality. The excellent quality and cultural characteristics accumulated over a hundred years have made Xijiang rice famous in history and have been exported to all directions. In the past two years, the Tonghua County Party Committee and the county government vigorously promoted the contiguous remediation of the rural environment. The air environment, water resources, and soil all reached the green standard. The quality characteristics of the Xijiang rice were more distinct and passed green and organic certification. Xijiang Rice is the third geographically protected product approved in Tonghua County. The responsible person of the county government stated that it will further regulate the application, use, and management of Xijiang rice geographical indication product names and special signs to ensure the quality and characteristics of Xijiang rice.

Xijiang Rice (Xijiang Gongmi) Quality Technical Requirements

One, variety

"Kyrgyzstan 83", "Tongyu 835", "Daohuaxiang 2" and other good taste varieties.

Second, site conditions

Alluvial paddy soil, swampy paddy soil, and peat-type paddy soil. The pH of the soil is 5.5 to 7.5 and the organic matter content is ≥ 2%.

Third, cultivation and management

1. Education:

(1) Parenting methods: Drought and dilute sowing.

(2) sowing time: mid-April, Putian period 35 days to 40 days.

(3) Seeding rate: Seed amount ≤ 2.5kg/667m2 (mu).

2. Transplanting: After the middle and late May, transplanting was started. The planting density was 10600 to 13300/667m2 (mu), with 2 to 3 plants per hole.

3. Field management: Apply the first decomposed organic fertilizer 2 to 3m3/667m2 (mu) before soil preparation, plowing the soil, apply a second time of composting organic fertilizer, irrigating the water to fill fields, and planting and transplanting.

4. Environment and safety requirements: The use of pesticides, fertilizers, etc. must comply with the relevant national regulations and must not pollute the environment.

Fourth, harvest

From late September to early October, artificial or mechanical harvesting is used when the Huangshu grain reaches 95%.

Fifth, processing

Air separation→cleaning→detritus→grassland→rough grain separation→milling→selection→classification→inspection→packaging→storage.

Six, quality characteristics

1. Sensory characteristics: Grains are lustrous, translucent, round and plump. The rice is oily, fragrant and sticky, and cold rice is not rejuvenated.

2. Physical and chemical indicators: gel consistency ≥ 70mm, amylose content 15% to 18%.

3. Safety and other quality and technical requirements: Product safety and other quality and technical requirements must comply with relevant national regulations.
